Accused arrested in cousin sister indecent SMSs case

In the case of persistent offensive phone calls and 15-20 indecent SMSs to my cousin, Women Helpline (1090) today arrested the accused Prabhat Kumar Rai son of Anand Kumar Rai of South Humayunpur, Alinagar, Gorakhpur. Prabhat Rai is a 4th year mechanical student in BBD engineering College. A friendship band in the name of the girl was also found with him.

I went to 1090 office and personally made a preliminary enquiry in this matter and am fully satisfied with the work of 1090 and thank them for the same.

In this case, an FIR No 478 of 2014 under sections 354D (stalking, with punishment up to 3 years), 507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication, punishment up to 2 years ) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman – punishment up to 1 year) IPC has been registered on my  application in Chinhat police station after I had talked to DIG Lucknow.

The SMSs sent were extremely dirty and vulgar and some of them threatening and frightening which talked to calling the victim’s father, making forceful assaults and committing bodily harms to done to the victim in case she did not agree to the wishes of the accused.

मेरी फुफेरी बहन, जो लखनऊ में इंजीनियरिंग कॉलेज की छात्रा है और कॉलेज के सामने बने एक  हॉस्टल में रहती है, को तीन-चार दिनों तक एक अनजाने फोन नंबर से कॉल आने और 15-20 बहुत ही गंदे एसएमएस भेजे जाने के बारे में दर्ज एफआईआर में आज 1090 (महिला हेल्पलाइन) ने अभियुक्त प्रभात कुमार राय पुत्र आनंद कुमार राय निवासी दक्षिण हुमायूँपुर, अलीनगर, गोरखपुर को गिरफ्तार कर लिया. प्रभात राय बीबीडी इंजिनीयरिंग कॉलेज में मेकेनिकल चौथे वर्ष का छात्र है.

मैंने स्वयं 1090 कार्यालय जा कर मामले में प्राथमिक तहकीकात की और 1090 की विवेचना और उनके कार्यों से पूरी तरह संतुष्ट हुआ जिसके लिए मैं उनका आभार व्यक्त करता हूँ.

इस मामले में डीआईजी लखनऊ को कहने के बाद मेरे प्रार्थनापत्र के आधार पर थाना चिनहट में एफआईआर संख्या 478/2014 धारा  354घ (पीछा करना/स्टाकिंग- 3 साल तक की सजा), 507 (अज्ञात संसूचना द्वारा आपराधिक अभित्रास- 2 साल की सजा), 509 (स्त्री की लज्जा का अनादर करने हेतु शब्द का कार्य- 1 साल की सजा) आईपीसी दर्ज किया गया था

जो मैसेज भेजे गए थे वे बहुत ही घटिया और गंदे थे और कुछ में सीधी धमकी दी गयी थी जैसे- देख अब तेरा बाप तुझे कैसे कॉलेज छुड़वाता है, तेरे बाप का नंबर मिल गया है अब देख तेरे इज्जत उतार दूंगा 10 मिनट में, हाँ या ना रिप्लाई कर आदि.
